  • PROFILE
IT ALL started with me and Reckless, starting out in the top room of a bed-sit Myself and Reckless was djing & I was called Kaos, we were creating an early form of back to back. It was the summer of '94 when I recognised that djing costs a hell of a lot of money so in order to save cash and still pursue my talent, I changed the way that I would rap to hip hop and converted it to drum and bass. We had this yard which came like the ghetto version of fun house, where it would be at least 8 -10 man all divided up doing different activities i.e. Building trees (spliffs), playing station, and playing music on the decks, the lady that owned the house had a son that dj'ed, so you would have these big 18" bass bins, 2 twelve inch speaker boxes, 2 twelve tens, and a collection of classic drum and bass, which ranged from the late 80's, this is basically the training ground for myself, MC Shockie and Rekless. Maria (the house owner) started to promote a jungle raves called STEPPERS, which moved around south London and the west-end, which started to get successful, she had Goldie, Grooverider, Ray Keith, Randall, and the first ever Andy C and Ed Rush back to back. Now Maria (the house owner) was the hardest weed seller known to man, and one day all da mans them was jamming hard blunted, and then a dude in a bright orange jacket walks in the room backs a draw and starts to talk to my friend Rolla, being the inquisitive fellow that I am I asked this dude what his name was, he replies STEVIE HYPER D, I reply KNOW YOU ARE NOT, and after a few of these punch and Judie exchanges he started to spit " right about now I did it my way, in da place, in da place, move your body to da drum and da bass, cause stevie hyper's right now on the case" . Stunned, shocked not to mention embarrassed I realised that this guy is Hyper D, so after this Rolla and hyper came to an agreement, to be able to rely on Rolla if he became stuck and couldn't get to work, Over a period of time Rolla comfortably fitted into the role of Stevie's driver and built up a close relationship, I could say that they became best friends.

As you can imagine we were going to pure raves with Stevie as he was booked everywhere, and in early '97 at a one nation hyper introduced me as up an comin mc representing Different levels (Hyper's label). To me this was my moment, if I have to mc at anytime within my life this was it. So here I am live on the stage of Island Arena (Ilford) and hyper hands me the mic, with sweaty palms cause I'm nervous as F**K I started spitting for about a half hour, during this time I start to recognise that I'm getting response, seeing couple lighters dot up here there and around the place with the occasional cheer. Understand that lighters back in the day lighters meant something, if ravers are lighting up for you they are feeling you.

For a while I was on FLEX FM with Dj Merlin, Cab-E, Kendo (R.I.P), DJ Decline & MC Hyperactive, then flex started doing raves in Adrenalin village where I was resident MC, bookings started to come in, sometimes regular sometimes not, but basically everything was cherry, and then Stevie Hyper D died, this affected me (and still does to this day) and a lot of people around me and within the scene. Steve was my Idol as well my friend, so to lose him hurts. After steve's death it left a big gapping hole within the scene, where as Hyper could keep a rave happy for three to five hours, now days it takes three to five mc's (Message!!!!). Mc's careers started taking off at this point, and the ravers were really starting to get in to it. I knew foxy from around ten years ago we both knew the same people and inevitably met up one day in Helter Skelter and we went Back 2 Back and we realised that we had a good relationship and we should work on it. It was July '98 that I received my first booking from the mighty One Nation and due to her majesties services I couldn't make it ( pissed!!). But I called Terry Turbo and he promised to put me on the next one. (Jungle Jim helped me out as well, BIG UP!!!) On my release I came out more determined to smash it, for me and for Steve.

After a lot of time of doing the rounds, it was the hot summer of '99 when myself, Fox, Eks, Shorts, Viber, AV, Arrif (Mustafa) and Dready were kickin back on the roof the studio (THE LAB) smoking that hydro SH*T making beats & playing station, we started to realise everybody's potential as artists and the opportunities wasn't there for mans dem on their own, and 'more heads are better than one'.. But anyway that's another story!!!!!!!!!! I've got loads of ideas ad ambitions but it's not about revealing my plans 'cause there's to many Pirates, imitators, back stabbers, straight up ali baba's Forty thieves , but believe it's going to be real fresh and exciting..
